Bolivar Energy Authority serves Hardeman County and parts of Fayette, Chester,Madison counties (TN)and Benton County (MS). Total electric customers: 11,221. Residential customers; 9,010. General Power customers under 50KW demand; 2,093. General Power customers between 51 and 4,999KW demand; 118. The Bolivar Energy Authority covers 1,350 miles of power line with an average of 8 customers per mile.

Board of Directors


The Bolivar Energy Authority Board of Directors is comprised of a five member board. The Board of Directors meet the last Monday of each month.


The Bolivar Energy Authority was formed and ratified by the City of Bolivar and the state of Tennessee in 2006. The Bolivar Electric Department acquired by the Authority from the city was formed in 1936 and provided electric services to the City and Hardeman County and surrounding counties in Tennessee and Mississippi. The Authority provides electric service to approximately 11,100 consumers.
